This year, I am moving in to a more prominent roll of the UWESub team. I will be heading the software side, in change of maintaining the GitHub repository, setting coding standards for the team and leading the software development. I will also be focusing my attention on the application of SLAM for the robot submarine.
We will continue to build upon our current system, implemented using ROS and thus hope to achieve a much higher level of performance. Where as now we have a base system with most hardware drivers written and a working hardware platform rather than the previous year where we required a complete overhaul of the code from Player/Stage to ROS.
